Sepehr is President of Jewish Souls United, an organization designed to bring Young Jewish professionals together. He loves to spend time with family and friends. As a hobby, he goes to the gym or plays sports like soccer. In his free time, he likes to explore new camping and hiking locations.
Abby is a Junior at UCLA majoring in Sociology. She loves going on picnics with friends, having family dinners, and shopping! An activity she enjoys doing on Shabbat is going on walks with family and friends!
Shaina Kashanirokh is currently attending Western University’s Physician Assistant program and acts as Class Recreation Leader for the class of 2023. She graduated from UCLA with her Bachelor’s Degree in English and has been involved in the establishment and management of the Eretz Cultural Center Youth Program. Shaina loves to dance and explore the great outdoors, and always has a good book recommendation to share!
Mana is originally from LA, who is now a graduate student in the MSOT program at Stanbridge University. After her seminary year in Jerusalem, she volunteered for the children’s oncology ward at Hadassa Hospital. Later, she followed her interests and passion in helping children become more independent in their daily lives. She spends most of her time hiking, horseback riding, and reading for leisure. Mana looks forward to spending Shabbat with friends and family!
After graduating from Atlanta Jewish Academy, Eliana spent a year in Israel at Baer Miriam. Eliana is currently a freshman at Santa Monica College and plans to pursue her passion in Speech Pathology. She enjoys coordinating events, volunteering, playing volleyball, and spending time with her family and friends.
Tala has been a part of JLIC board for three years. She enjoys spending time with her loved ones, baking and working out. She looks forward to seeing you at Hillel in the near future!
Elora is a graduate student at CSUN studying Speech and Language Pathology. She has been involved in Jewish organizations such as NCSY, Chabad on Campus, and Olami. She recently spent 6 weeks in Israel over the summer exploring and learning. She enjoys working with kids, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Shante is a social bubbly girl, who loves learning about people’s lives. She is talkative, has a listening ear, and respects people of all different backgrounds. She loves to cook nutritious meals and go on walks. Her genre of music specifically says it all if she were to describe her personality in one way.
Shani is an outgoing and hardworking student who will be getting her Bachelor's in Business Administration. She loves bringing people together and building a strong Jewish community and hopes to do so during her time as a Yavneh fellow.
Ariella is currently a nursing student at WCU. She has experience working as a teacher at hebrew schools. She joined Yavneh after being involved in JLIC of UCLA.
Yoni is a person who loves to have discussions on morality and logic. Although he does not like to take public leadership positions, Yoni works behind the scenes to make sure his community is flourishing properly in both the secular and Religious sectors.
Eliyahu has been involved with OU-JLIC for the past couple years. He grew up in an orthodox community where he eventually started the youth program at his shul. He attends Loyola law school and loves learning the Parasha.
Dorit is a CSUN graduate working towards applying to nursing school. She enjoys traveling, arts, and hanging with good friends. Dorit has been involved with on campus and off campus Jewish organizations since high school, putting together events to bring her fellow peers and students together!
Lexi has involved herself with numerous leadership programs from high school youth groups to college engagement events all in an effort to bring Jewish life into campus. When she’s not planning events, Lexi is most likely working towards her goal in working in the medical field by volunteering and working with patients. With a passion for learning and team building, Lexi is excited to be a part of Yavneh.
Liora Yasmeh has an academic background in art and is also an aspiring nurse. She is passionate about her creative work and giving back to the community.
Shoshana is an outgoing and friendly aspiring nursing student studying at CSULA. She hopes to bring a sense of Jewish community and unity among her peers on and off campus. She loves outdoor activities, learning new things and meeting new people.
Nathan is a current first year Podiatric Medical Student at Western University located in Pomona, California. He is also the President of OU-JLIC Western, hoping to expand the student Jewish life on his campus.
After spending a year in Israel, Sarah transferred to UCLA, where she is now a junior majoring in political science. Sarah is a natural leader and loves to learn new things. She is the director of learning for OU-JLIC and is on the board of Students Supporting Israel at UCLA.
Adiel was born and raised in San Francisco, and during her gap year she attended Baer Miriam Seminary. She studies nursing in Los Angeles. Adiel enjoys spending time with her friends and continues to swim competitively in her free time. Adiel is enthusiastic to learn new things and spread her light on campus!
Jonathan is a medical student at UCSF in his 3rd year of training. In his free time he enjoys cooking, exploring the many diverse neighborhoods of SF, and enjoying unique city views by kayak in the bay.
Raised in LA, Moryel is currently a senior at UCLA where she is majoring in Human Biology and Society. She serves as the co-president of OU-JLIC at UCLA, is on Hillel at UCLA's Board of Directors, and is an OU-JLIC intern. Moryel is passionate about spreading love for Judaism and promoting a healthy mind-body-soul balance.
Shayna Roberts was born in LA and grew up in Las Vegas. For university, she attends the College of Charleston. Shayna is heavily involved on campus. She is the event planning chair for her sorority (delta gamma) She is also involved in Hillel and spends a lot of her free time either giving campus tours or working with the best buddies program on campus. Lastly, Shayna is the Vice President of the College Republicans at her university. Shayna loves to meet new friends, eat good food, and most importantly exemplify a bas melech.
Nicole is a UCLA graduate who is pursuing a career in healthcare. She enjoys hanging out with friends, going to the beach, and hiking. Over the course of her college experience, Jewish organizations such as OU-JLIC have played a large and impactful role in her life.
Esther is passionate about engaging in deep, meaningful conversations about Jewish philosophy and the reasons behind our laws, with fellow students. In her free time she enjoys to read, study code, and cook!
Yoel Shamouni is a fourth year Sociology major. He has aspirations to become a lawyer and practice business litigation. He aims to apply for the 2023 school year! Yoel likes to read books, learn new things, and hang out with friends.
Sara is from LA and is a nursing student at LAVC. In her free time she likes spending time with friends/family and staying active. She's excited to be a Yavneh fellow and make an impact on her community.
Serach is a second year law student at Loyola Law School, where she serves as the treasurer for the Jewish Law Student Association. Serach looks forward to creating a stronger community amongst Jewish Graduate students as a Yavneh Fellow.
Nathan is from Los Angeles, CA where he is a senior at Cal State Northridge and majoring in Computer Information Technology. He is a proud Zionist. In his free time, he likes watching movies and playing codenames.
Netanya was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She graduated Valley Torah Girls High School, and is currently working as an undergraduate student at Pierce College. She works as a preschool teacher and Hebrew school TA. In her free time, Netanya enjoys oil painting, singing, and dancing. Netanya cannot wait to meet new people and create fun and meaningful memories!
Alex is an incoming freshman at UCLA, where he plans to study economics and history. A native of Los Angeles, he went to Shalhevet High School and took a gap year to learn at Yeshivat Lev HaTorah in Ramat Beit Shemesh, Israel. Alex loves running, reading a good book, anything to do with aviation, and takes his chess hobby a little too seriously.
Following his graduation from Tarbut V'Torah in Irvine, California, Ilan spent the past year learning at Yeshivat Orayta in the Old City of Jerusalem. He now plans to pursue a degree in Engineering at UCLA. Ilan enjoys playing piano and guitar, basketball, and loves to explore the outdoors.
Sean is studying Psychology with a minor in Jewish Studies at UCLA. He is passionate about Judaism, learning new things, and music! He previously started the first Hillel at his community college and is very excited for Yavneh!
