Avigail graduated from The Heschel School on the Upper West Side, and spent the past year learning at Midreshet Nishmat, an Israeli seminary located in Jerusalem. She refuses to change her phone back to English from Hebrew and spends much of her time planning out her future Aliyah. When not thinking about Israel, she can be found blogging, sleeping, or watching political TV shows.

Elisheva is from Queens, New York, home of the Mets and many Jewish grandparents. As a graduate of Central and a Harova alum, she is very passionate about her Judaism, Israel, and enriching the greater Jewish community. While living in the East Village in Manhattan, she serves as the Gabbait for the Shalhevet Board at NYU (even though she is a proud Baruch student.) If you’re ever looking for Elisheva, you can find her hanging out with friends, cooking, reading, or singing in the shower.

Danielle is currently an "Israel Freshman" at Binghamton University. Along with being a Yavneh Fellow, she is a professional photographer (working for Chabad), part of the Binghamton Emerging Leaders Program and hope to be involved in both JLIC and Chabad. In my free time, she loves to play basketball, listen to music, watch Netflix and bake.

Ilan is a Psychology student starting his 3rd year @ IDC Herzliya. After graduating Frisch and spending two years in Yeshiva in the Old City, Ilan decided to pursue his undergrad degree in Israel. He is looking forward to being a part of a blossoming religious community in Herzliya.

Shira is from Alexandria, Louisiana and is studying Music Performance and Psychology with a minor in Jewish Studies. She studied abroad at Hebrew University in the fall of 2017 and maintains that that semester was the peak of her life. If you want to talk Broadway and/or Israeli pop music, Shira’s your girl.

Shoshana is a sophomore at Queens College. She is an intern for the Hillel, responsible for creating Torah learning events on campus. In her free time she enjoys learning Torah, going to art museums, singing, and reading.

Miriam is a graduate from Fuchs Mizrachi School in Cleveland, Ohio. During high school, she was active in Bnei Akiva, in leadership positions in her local sniff and in Camp Stone. Last year, she spent an incredible year at Midreshet Torah V'avodah! Currently, she is a sophomore majoring in Human Development. Miriam is passionate about learning Torah, Israel, singing, psychology, and social justice.

Didi grew up in Chicago, attended Ida Crown Jewish Academy and the spent a year studying at the Stella K. Abraham Beit Midrash for Women (Migdal Oz). She is currently a sophomore studying in the Journalism + Design program and minoring in Dance. She holds the position of Education Chair on Shalhevet, the Orthodox Jewish chapter of the Hillel at NYU. In her spare time Didi is a devoted podcast listener and even interns for one called The Design of Business the Business of Design, a podcast from the Yale School Of Management.

Daphna made Aliyah two years ago and is a student at IDC Herzliya. She loves to tell stories through film and hopes to one day fulfill her dreams of traveling and telling the stories of untold narratives. Until then, she plans to focus her time on Jewish community building in Israel.

Gila grew up in Teaneck, NJ, went to Migdal Oz last year and is now a freshman at Brandeis who has no clue what she wants to study (open to all suggestions!). She loves baking in excessive amounts, Torah, adult coloring books, and all things chocolate.

Ronit is from Brookline, Massachusetts and attended Gann Academy, Tichon Ramah Yerushalayim, and Brookline High School. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, and doing chesed in her community. Ronit spent her summer volunteering in Israel with Magen David Adom. She is currently pursuing her interest in medicine at Drexel University where she is majoring in nursing.

Daniel is currently in his first year of University in Birmingham, England. He is studying Mechanical and Materials Engineering and has a keen interest in reading. Currently, Daniel is involved in Jewish Learning programming on campus.

Aryeh is currently a sophomore at the University of Maryland, where he's studying Philosophy and History. In his second semester as Education Chair of Kedma, the Orthodox student group at UMD, Aryeh hopes to connect with Jews on his campus in an effort to promote a vibrant, spiritual, and meaning-based Judaism.

Jonah is excited for the opportunity as a Yavneh fellow to connect with the greater Jewish community of UChicago! He is interested in studying Philosophy and Molecular Engineering. He loves learning and new experiences, and is passionate about Brazilian Jui Jitsu.

Bella grew up in St. Louis, Missouri where she had the privilege to help found a new Modern Orthodox Zionist Jewish high school with a number of students in her community! After spending a gap year at Midreshet Torah V'Avodah in Jerusalem, she is studying Jewish Education at Stern College, Yeshiva University, through the Legacy Program. She loves to be involved in campus activities, is the head Shabbat programmer on Student Council, and an engagement coordinator on YUPAC's Executive Board. In her free time, catch her on the tennis court!

Raina is from Skokie, IL and graduated from Ida Crown Jewish Academy and attended Machon Ma'ayan. She is currently a freshman at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign studying graphic design. Throughout high school she was very involved with NCSY. She is excited to plan Jewish events on campus through Yavneh and the Jewish Education Committee at Hillel!

Aleeza attended Maimonides School, and she spent last year at Nishmat. She enjoys writing, walks, and the arts. Her favorite subject (and intended major) is psychology.

Yonim is a first year student at UC Davis, where his time is split between studying for his Arabic quizzes, jamming out on mandolin, and horizontally pondering life's biggest questions on the Davis quad. Yonim spent last year studying in Yeshivat Maale Gilboa and maayan-hopping. Yonim is currently living with four Muslims, a Quaker, and an atheist in the Multifaith Living Community in Davis, and hopes to integrate the many insights from that experience with his work in the Jewish community.

Jon Katzman is from Englewood NJ, went to Frisch for high school, and recently finished his gap year at Yeshivat Orayta. His favorite place in the world is the ski slope, where he once raced and now instructs beginners. His passions range from 80's funk music to basketball. He is studying history and exploring the social sciences at Harvard.

Talia is from Philadelphia and is currently a Behavior Biology and English double major at Johns Hopkins. She hopes to eventually be a vet in Israel and spends her free time training scent detection police dogs.

Elen-Sarrah is a transfer sophomore at Cornell University, where she is majoring in Biology with a concentration in Neurobiology and Behavior. She is excited to settle in and get involved in leadership positions on campus, specifically in the Jewish community through the Yavneh Fellowship! In her free time, she like to read, play violin, crochet kippas, and hang out with family and friends!

Ari grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, attended Berman Hebrew Academy, and spent a year studying at Yeshivat Hakotel. He is now at the University of Michigan studying Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science. Serving as Head of Religious Life for the Orthodox community, Ari is passionate about improving Jewish life and spreading Torah on campus. In his free time, he loves cooking, skiing, hiking and learning Torah.

Before attending the Macaulay Honors program in Queens College, Robin attended Frisch for High School and MMY during her year in Israel. She is planning on majoring in psychology but eventually wants to go into Chinuch. Robin has been active in Yachad for the past few years in various leadership capacities and has recently joined the JLIC programming team in Queens.

Rebecca hails from Westchester, New York and is pursuing the pre-med track at the University of Michigan. In her free time she can be found hanging out with her friends, or reading a good book with a cup of coffee. She loves staying active by playing sports or hitting the gym. She plans on being involved with Israel Advocacy on campus and playing intramural sports.

Nonnie is a sophomore at Rutgers University, studying English. Dedicated to Orthodox life on campus, she is the OU-JLIC intern and the editor-in-chief of the newsletter for Hillel Mesorah.

Aleeza is a Freshman at Muhlenberg College. She grew up in Boston, and is a die-hard Patriots fan. She loves to hang with friends, and play sports.

Gabe is a cool guy with a fun personality, but he knows when to be serious. He is a second year student at Harvard studying physics, and you can find him around campus in the Hillel, where he runs the daily minyan and serves as a member of the minyan board. Gabe really enjoys learning Gemara, but hockey and classic rock are pretty fun sometimes too.

Hodaya is a freshman at the Cornell University College of Engineering who is interested in computer science and mathematics. She is active in Hillel and loves to sing and play piano. Hodaya also leads a project dedicated to the rehabilitation of a cemetery, serving the individuals with disabilities buried there and prospective visitors.

Molly was born and raised in Chicago, IL. Prior to attending Binghamton University, she spent a year in Israel attending the Tiferet Center for Advance Jewish Studies. She is currently in her second year of nursing school and is very excited to see how she can help strengthen the Binghamton community.

Gabe is a sophomore at Harvard University, where he is studying chemistry. Originally from Livingston, NJ, Gabe went to Frisch and then continued his Jewish studies at Yeshivat Eretz Hatzvi. He is interested in medicine and likes to play squash. He serves on the board of the Orthodox Minyan at Harvard Hillel, and takes dogs to visit the elderly on weekends.

Nava attended Ida Crown Jewish Academy and Midreshet Nishmat. She is currently studying architecture and urban planning. She loves to drink coffee, run, learn Gemara, and work as an OU-JLIC intern.

Shalhevet, originally from Riverdale, New York, is a sophomore at Yale University. She spends most of her time thinking about major as-of-yet-unsolved philosophical problems, like the "problem of other minds" and the "problem of how to give out aliyot from the other side of the mechitzah." She can usually be found holding a mug of coffee and listening to Bulgarian folk tunes.

Tamara grew up in Chicago where she attended Ida Crown Jewish Academy. She currently is a pre-law student at the University of Maryland where she studies political science and psychology. Tamara currently serves as Vice President of Kedma, the social group for Orthodox students at UMD and is looking forward to helping make Jewish life on campus even better with the help of Yavneh! When she's not in class she can be found reading, cooking, drinking tea, and binging tv shows.

Shoshana Weintraub graduated from Kohelet Yeshiva High School in Merion Station, PA, and spent a year studying at Michlelet Midreshet Yerushalayim (MMY) in Jerusalem. She is majoring in materials science engineering at Penn. Her hobbies include learning gemara, tutoring, and collecting rocks.

Shoshana graduated from Beth Tfiloh before going to Lindenbaum for two years. On campus, she is studying Aeronautical Engineering and is involved in all sorts of different religious activities, including inter-faith conversations and Hillel Board.

Netanel is from Teaneck, NJ. He went to Torah Academy of Bergen County for high school followed by a year of Torah study at Yeshivat Lev Hatorah. He is now studying civil engineering at Rutgers University and serves as Education Chair and Gabbai for the Mesorah Orthodox community at Rutgers Hillel.

Jesselea has grown up moving around the world, but is currently a second year Pre-Dental student at the University of Florida majoring in Business Administration. She can often be found eating a cookie, investigating the unknown, or begging her friends to join her at sailing and ultimate frisbee practice. She is known for her ability to elicit laughs from those with a bad sense of humor, for her dancing, and for being an extremely talented sous chef. Her words are so impactful that she was even once quoted in a newspaper. Some say she has lost her mind, but she knows that she backed it up on a disk somewhere.

After having spent a gap year at Yeshiva Orayta, JJ is now a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania. JJ likes to consider his status as a 3x pickle-eating champion his greatest achievement. In addition to being Drisha Fellow on campus, JJ looks forward to teaming up with Yavneh to promote increased engagement and conversation throughout Penn’s diverse Jewish community.

Melech comes from Chicago and is studying electrical engineering after spending two years learning in Yeshivat Shaalvim. Melech is also the Orthodox minyan leader and Jewish education chair at the Illini Hillel, as well as president of Illini Students Supporting Israel, and head mashgiach at the kosher dining hall on his campus. Melech enjoy sports, particularly basketball as well as learning with friends. He looks forward to being a Yavneh fellow and helping improve Jewish student life on campus.

Marc graduated from Maimonides High School, studied at Yeshivat Lev HaTorah and is currently attending Rutgers University, where he is an active member of the Orthodox community. In his freshman year Marc acted as co-freshman representative of the Orthodox community at Rutgers Hillel and co-founded a growing weekly Jewish zemirot get together in his apartment called "Leil Shishi". Marc enjoys hiking, playing the guitar, and photography.

Maya attended the Frisch School and then studied for a year at Midreshet Torah V’Avodah in Israel before beginning her studies in kinesiology at the University of Maryland. At UMD, Maya is also Director of Programming for the Students for the Ethical Treatment of Animals club on campus. Maya has been involved for many years in Bnei Akiva both as a camper and a counselor, and has a great love for Torah and Israel. Maya also enjoys dancing and playing piano.

After attending MTA, and spending some time learning at Yeshivat Har Etzion, Jason now attends the Rutgers University School of Business. On campus, Jason is both on the Hillel Student Board as the Israel Chair and is a founder of the only on-campus non-denominational Israel Advocacy organization. Jason's passions include playing guitar, filmmaking, and Israel.

Rivka grew up in Teaneck, NJ and went to Frisch before spending a year in Israel first at Ein HaNatziv and then at Nishmat. She enjoys swimming and art projects and hopes to major in Psychology.

Miriam is a fun and friendly person who is eager to try to new things and meet new people. She loves to hike camp and volunteer. Miriam plans to pursue a degree in PT.

Zak is a sophomore studying economics. Before attending NYU he studied in Yeshivat Har Etzion. His hobbies include cooking, playing sports, and reading.

Perrin is from Lawrence, New York and spent the last year studying at Midreshet Harova (her first time in Israel!). She is excited to continue expanding her Jewish knowledge and application in Barnard and beyond, and is looking forward to facilitating involvement in Jewish life on campus. Perrin enjoys yoga, painting, quality memes, and is always down for an outdoor adventure.

Rachmiel currently serves as the Jewish Education Chair on Hillel student board at his college. He is very involved with Jewish life on campus ✡ including Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus and AEPi. He is a second year studying pure mathematics.
